We are sooooo excited to be asked to return to the Maker's Faire this year! Everyone is getting ready to have skeins of FUN!
Maker's Faire will be on Saturday, June 21st at the Incubator in McAllen. (That's the old library on Main Street) Our booth will be downstairs, right by the back door.
You know one of the many blessings of last year was getting to meet a whole lot of new people. Mary and Patti had so much fun that they jumped right and have been coming to the Thursday group ever since! And in no time, Mary invited some friends and here she is teaching them how to loom knit, too.
We have all had a blast together getting to share ideas and see all the cool things everyone does. Easy-Peazy and what great friends God brings around the loom!
We would LOVE to have you join us, too! Come be a KnitWit!

Thankful!!!
The next trip to China leaves on April 9th!!!
We just sent off a box stuffed with shawls and hats to our friend Mary, who is heading up the team from her church. We are so grateful to be able to help and you can help too, with your prayers! It is a real blessing to come along side all the wonderful people God has sent our way!
It has been a very busy start to 2014 and SOOO hard to believe that April is almost here! We have had such exciting news from many that have received shawls and hats...it is always a real encouragement to hear just a little bit of what God is doing! Here is a little note from the latest China trip:
I’ve been home from an amazing trip to China for almost a week now: Yinyan Huang and I
went to Beijing and Tianjin, taught in businesses and churches, over
200 people received training and 25+ put their faith in Christ! One
despondent & suicidal lady was transformed by His grace and even in
the silk market, 3 young girls received Christ as Savior (see picture
attached)!
It was my 13th trip and well over 4,000 have received training with so many decisions. It is humbling and amazing that God uses us in this way and is allowing us to help equip what I believe will be the largest force for evangelism the world will ever see. Indeed, the Chinese have sent 100,000 missionaries to the US in the last 10 years and the need for solid training is profound...
Blessings ~ Peggy

Ready, Set....KNIT!
We are all very happily doing just that...knitting away! Boxes of hats went off to Mexico for Christmas, so we are all getting back to work
Our thanks to yet another friend for the yarn she donated just before Christmas ~ Thank you Diane!!!
We are filling the bags and baskets up with scarves and shawls...more rainbows in the making!
All of your help sure does help us get started again with fun things for China and wherever else God is shipping things this year...March is just around the corner and that is our next ship date for China. Thanks ahead of time for all you prayers and support in this ministry!
You can check out Mexico updates from our friend Melody, here on their blog....
CHRISTMAS AT THE DUMP CHURCH
One of their outreaches is to a community of families that live on the city dump, just south of us, in Reynosa, Mexico. Their stories are many and Melody shares them there on the blog. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated. We never fully know another's story, but Melody and her husband so joyfully enter the lives of these people with The Most Important Story, our Jesus. What a blessing it is to be able to help in any small way.
We have new friends joining in on Thursdays and that makes this all the more fun. God is blessing us with good times together, sharing ideas and yarn and definitely a few grins and giggles along the way!
Prayers & Purls!!!

Back to School?
Well, it has been a very busy summer for everyone!
We have been working away and filling up bags of hats and shawls to be ready for this fall and Christmas!
There are TWO trips to China planned, our friend Melody at the dump church in Reynosa and of course Pastor Mike. SO, we're running circles around those looms.
Remember, we can teach you, too! It will take less than FIVE minutes. If you are looking for something different, some friends to hang out with and a fun way to put something good out into our world....come join us, we would love to have you!
See? There's some serious work going on here, too!
The girls have been really creative and we are all learning from them...is this the cutest hat ever, or what!

Baby Announcement!
WELCOME!!!
Meet Xiaoxia's 8lb. 4 oz. healthy baby boy! We have been praying for this dear one and what a blessing to see him!
News of his arrival came just after KnitWits on Thursday. We're soooo excited and happy for the family! (More of their story is on the post below and the Women-Connect blog.)
We will all continue to keep the family in our prayers. Our hope and prayer is that this dear one will grow to know and love the Lord.
Another surprise came to KnitWits, too! Catty's dear girls made flowers all week. They're pros now!
Next week Barbara will be bringing some of our hats and we'll attach them and jazz things up a bit. :)

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress
them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the
road, when you lie down and when you get up.

For such a time as this....
This morning, as I was sitting in the lobby of our church before service began, my phone sent a notification. So, I checked and it was Peggy posting
pics from China! I was struck by the smallness of our world now…as Peggy was
going to bed, having finished Sunday, we were just beginning and thru our
technology we able to ‘talk’ across the world!
What a privilege to have the gift of
prayer, the opportunity to bring our
cares, and those of others, before the throne of our loving God in every moment.
On the womenconnect blog,
Peggy posted, “Xiaoxia is the
precious lady who was moved to weep upon receiving a shawl and knowing her
American sisters would pray for her. Xiaoxia had been told by her doctor that
she should terminate her pregnancy because her baby didn't seem to be growing
well. She received such courage to carry the baby afterward and will deliver a
healthy baby next month! Xiaoxia wanted us to know this and to express her
gratitude! Let's continue to pray for a safe delivery and health for baby and
mother. Amen? Amen!”
Praising God right now for His grace in the lives of Xiaoxia’s
family! This is such a sweet reminder for us of God’s care and His plan for all
of us! Thank you for your continued prayers for this team and the participants. You can follow the updates here on their blog:

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable
to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
Luke 18:1
And
THANK YOU all for your prayers for us during the Makers’ Faire we participated
in! What a wonderful day!
We made lots of new friends and were able to share
with many the work that God is doing through this ministry of prayer shawls.
So
many seemed genuinely touched that perhaps they could take their talents and
gifts and do a good work of the Lord, too! That
was cool!
It was really a joy to our hearts to see several
young ones stay for two hours to finish their hats. We didn’t get pics of
everyone, but they all said they wanted to help give to the children who need them.
A few people also stopped by to donate yarn to
us and that was truly a blessing in many ways. See, people do ask
how we pay for all this and what our plan is. We always say, “GOD provides!”,
which usually means they may look at us funny because we don’t have a definite “plan”…but
we do!
And on this day we could point to that pile of yarn and say, “See? GOD
provides!” Many thanks for our friends who brought yarn that told His story
before we even touched it!
Then, a few of our new friends joined us at
KnitWits on the Thursday following! We had fun making hats and getting to know
each other a little better. (without all the fun/craziness of the Faire ;)
We are blessed beyond our imaginings with all
God is doing and grateful for the friends He brings along the way!
